Food trap

Food often becomes trapped between the wisdom tooth and the molar next to it. This happens especially if the wisdom tooth is at an angle. The food entrapped between your wisdom tooth and the adjacent tooth, can lead to tooth decay on either or both of the teeth. Initially it may be very painless. But eventually when the decay reaches the pulp of either teeth, there will be severe pain. If you have procrastinated till then, you may need removal of both teeth, or surgical removal of wisdom tooth and sometimes Root Canal Treatment in the adjacent tooth.
